One Time or Shorter Projects and Partnerships
For one-time service events in which students will work with your organization on a single occasion or day, or on a shorter project, please email us at keyctr@unca.edu.
We will send out your one day service event information to students and faculty in either our Weekly Wednesday Engagement Opportunities email, or in our monthly Keyed-In Newsletter. You can see a list of current service opportunities in our community by clicking here.
There is a submission deadline for submissions on the 28th of each month. Please write NO MORE than 3 sentences, including date and time of the event, contact person, and any addiitonal information necessary. Please also include a link to your website or to the event if applicable. You may also want to include a brief description of what kind of help you need/what volunteers would be doing (if you think this will help attract volunteers) or any perks involved (like free tickets--again to attract students).
Please send your email to us at keyctr@unca.edu with subject line: ATTN: NEWSLETTER.
What service learning at UNC Asheville is about:
Thank you for your interest in service learning! We ask that you first read about getting UNC Asheville students to work with you in service-learning endeavors. The information should help you decide whether service learning is a good match for you. It also will help you explore multiple ways of thinking about how students could work with you, as service learning goes way past traditional volunteering. For example, students could:
- Investigate ways that studies indicate you might want to approach an issue or problem
- conduct research on whether a program or effort you have undertaken is working
- help you market yourself
- do artistic or creative projects that tell your story or enhance your working environment.
Those are just a few possibilities. If you would like to discuss the possibility of partnerships or any other aspect of service learning, please contact us at 828.251.6400 or keyctr@unca.edu.
