Get Up and Go! (GUNG)
Our goal is to engage students with their food system particularly on campus and within Asheville. We hope to promote a new type of food culture that emphasizes sustainability, respect, community and health. We will do this by empowering students to take control of where their food comes from and give them an avenue for becoming more involved in the food community of Asheville. Concurrently, our chapter will actively work to heal the rift between people and their environment. Slow Food UNC Asheville seeks to facilitate an atmosphere where the less powerful stake holders are heard.
